A FLY CASTING REPORT BY PRESIDENT AND CASTING CHAIR – LYTH HARTZ

In addition to FlyTying expertise, Fly Fishers International is highly regarded for its Fly-Casting instruction program. It is known as the Casting Instructor Certification Program (CICP). There are four levels of certification: Certified Casting Instructor (CI), Master Casting Instructor (MCI), Two Hand Casting Instructor (THCI) , and Two Hand Master Casting Instructor (THMCI).

There are many casting instructors in the Upper Midwest Council. You can locate them by going to the FFI website; www.flyfishersinternational.org and using the search for Casting Instructors. A major activity of the UMC Casting Instructors is providing free casting lessons at the Great Waters Fly Fishing Expo held in St. Paul, MN each March.
